Locally Relevant Research

in the Shuswap and North Okanagan

This is the research and quality improvement home for the Shuswap North Okanagan (SNO) Division of Family Practice.

November 22, 2017 We met to discuss how to do research and quality improvement work with a busy practice! Dr. Stefan Grzybowski from UBC Family Medicine visited with us to share his experience and insights.

January 2017 We are planning a research evening & event in conjunction with the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Physician Society Working Group. This will be an event to discuss how we to get involved in research here in the North Okanagan. Watch for more information.

How can you get involved in locally relevant family practice research?

To qualify to help, you must be a either patient, health care provider or a physician. We are pretty sure that includes you. As the Division of Family Practice, community-based family physicians are central to our work.

If you'd like, get some idea of the context.

To get started, comment on areas of potential improvement. (count comment so far)

If you have an idea for some research, contribute it! (count contribute so far)

What is Better Medicine?

Better Medicine is a living document with resources for development of locally relevant research program where you are. For us, this is the Shuswap and North Okanagan in British Columbia, Canada.

This site is for patients, health care providers and physicians to become involved in making better medicine in our community. It provides a forum for everyone to contribute comments and ideas for locally relevant research and quality improvement. It provides resources to help primary care physicians perform locally relevant research where you are. Please examine the resources in these pages to understand ...
